Providing PR to a boutique M&A consultancy: BTD
In 2017 we began providing PR services to BTD with a primary objective to raise the profile of the business and its expertise across the industry.
BTD is a boutique M&A specialist which has worked with the likes of Centrica, CocaCola, E.On, GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis and Unilever. Its specialist teams provide guidance and support through deal situations to help ensure their success. The firm was well-respected in its immediate circle but also known for its long term results, however awareness in the general market place was quite poor.
Our fintech team focused efforts on a thought leadership campaign using the experience and insight of the founding partner as well as other key consultants and implemented a three-pronged approach. The first was to pitch bylined articles to leading M&A, C-Suite and financial publications, choosing topics supported by BTD’s extensive in-house research and white papers. We also identified relevant comment opportunities, picking up on the prevailing news agenda, and added insight and expert commentary around breaking news.
Carlos Keener, founding partner, BTD: “The synergy between The Comms Crowd and our business was evident right from the start and having the right cultural fit when hiring a PR agency was hugely important to us. The team invested a lot up front to learn about the business and the clients we work with so that the PR campaign was focused on the right audiences in the right publications. They enjoy solid relationships with the key journalists and have been able to secure some great opportunities for us.”
To complement our thought leadership efforts and position BTD as a growing global business, we drafted and disseminated press releases announcing corporate news – for example, new hires and the launch of offices overseas. In addition we worked with BTD to help build its social media presence drafting regular posts for its LinkedIn channel.
