Head of content marketing
Lauren Bowden
Lauren leads content marketing. She is an intelligent writer who has been diving deep into the space since 2006.
At The Crowd, Lauren’s primary focus is to deliver compelling, hard-working marketing content. She also supports our dedicated social media accounts, ensuring our strategies attract the right kind of followers for each client and the content engages with their target audience.
“Content marketing captures prospects’ attention and helps move them along the decision-making process at crucial points of the sales cycle. Your experts know the topic – but the trick is knowing the right tone to strike, how to best position it, and which are the best channels to super-charge its reach. That is where we come in.”
Lauren was the first intern Sam ever hired back in 2004 at Metia! Her next move was a stint at one of the world’s largest PR agencies, Weber Shandwick, working on tech giants Microsoft and Concur. Soon realising that she missed the acronym-filled world of fintech, she embarked on a decade-long chapter of her career in-house at Wolters Kluwer. She initially worked as a corporate communications manager covering analyst relations, internal comms, crisis comms and M&As. But, hungry for a new challenge, Lauren moved across to product and content marketing for the finance, risk and regulatory reporting (FRR) division. Soon she was responsible for the planning, development and execution of its global market approach and demand generation strategies.
Having ticked agency and in-house experiences off her career bucket list, she was lured to The Crowd in 2019 and was thrilled to be reunited with several of her former colleagues. This time she was connecting from the comfort of her own home in the ‘burbs where she lives with her husband, son and two cats Ventoux and RuPaul (named after an epic bike ride and epic drag queen respectively).
