Internal Comms

Emma Tucker

Emma provides internal communications consultancy. Since 2008 she has been a firm believer in building great companies from the inside out.

Emma is experienced in creating internal communication strategies and campaigns that foster employee involvement, support behaviour change, and create and sustain happy and healthy working cultures. This could come in the form of a business transformation, the launch of a new system or process, or a desire to help line managers connect more with their people.

“Internal comms is the invisible glue that binds employees together and is a strategic imperative in fast-growth companies. It all comes down to helping organisations have better conversations with their people to unite them behind the company’s strategic goals. When people believe in your ambition and trust the leadership team, they’ll perform better and adapt to inevitable organisational change.”

Emma started her internal comms career at BNP Paribas, where she worked on a range of projects for the bank’s UK businesses, including brand engagement, diversity, equity and inclusion campaigns, HR programmes, and regulatory change communications. More recently, Emma worked at the banking software firm Temenos, where she built the internal comms function from scratch, and worked on a company-wide transformation, a new brand rollout, a series of acquisitions and integrations, Covid-19 communications, and company culture engagement. In addition, Emma introduced a broader range of employee-focused communication channels to the business.

In 2021, Emma completed her MA in Internal Comms Management, adding theory to her practical experience.

Emma joined The Crowd in early 2023 to kickstart her freelancing career. She is based in Hertfordshire, where she lives with her husband, daughter, and their insatiable cat, Nala.
